Summertown: a short film shot on the Sony Xperia TX

If you have ever wondered about the capabilities of the camera on your smartphone, then you will want to watch Summertown — a short film shot entirely on the Sony Xperia TX by Pocket Filmmaker Jason van Genderen.

Today is an exciting day for us here at CNET Australia. We've been working in partnership with Jason for several months towards creating this project, plus a behind the scenes series about the making of Summertown and regular pocket film-making guides to show you how to get the most out of your smartphone camera.

The film premiered at the Verona cinema in Sydney last night, and it looked amazing on the big screen. Even after the conversion, the colours still looked vibrant and the images were sharp and crisp.
