Hyundai T7 tablet with quad-core Exynos chip sells for $166

Quad-core chips aren’t just for high-end devices anymore. Last year Google started selling the Nexus 7 tablet with an NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor for $199, and since then we’ve seen a number of low-cost quad-core tablets, mostly from Chinese companies you’ve probably never heard of.

Now Hyundai (a company you may have heard of, but probably don’t associate with tablets) is offering 7 inch tablet with a 1.4 GHz quad-core Samsung Exynos 4412 processor. You can pick it up from PandaWill for $166.

The tablet has the same processor as the popular Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it will offer the same kind of build quality or performance. There’s always a bit of risk involved in ordering one of these Chinese tablets and having them imported to the US or Europe… but the price is pretty hard to beat.

The Hyundai T7 tablet features Mali 400 graphics, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, and a 1280 x 800 pixel display with 178 degree viewing angles.

It has a capacitive touch panel with 5-point multitouch, a 2MP rear camera, and 0.3MP front facing camera. There’s also an HDMI port and microUSB port.

The tablet runs Android 4.0 software and features a G-sensor, GPS, Bluetooth, and WiFi. It comes with a 3000mAh battery, but the manufacturer only promises up to 4 hours of run time.
