LG acquires a right to HP webOS operating system

South Korean company LG Electronics announced that it has signed with the company Hewlett-Packard agreed to acquire the rights to the operating system webOS, who three years earlier got from HP Palm, on the purchase of the company.

The agreement for the purchase of webOS LG includes the acquisition of the rights to the source code, documentation, engineers, and related Web sites. In addition, LG will go and patents affecting the operating system and user interface.

LG plans to use webOS in the next generation of "smart TVs» Smart TV.
