NVIDIA introduced the first Tegra processor with integrated LTE-modem


Company NVIDIA today introduced its first mobile processor with integrated 4G LTE modem - NVIDIA Tegra 4i, who, with her ​​words, more powerful and yet half of its nearest competitor.

Formerly known as the «Project Grey», processor Tegra 4i has at its disposal 60 graphics cores NVIDIA, quad-core CPU based on SUPER SAVER core ARM-R4 Cortex-A9, fifth power-saving core and LTE modem NVIDIA i500. With all these features, Tegra 4i is, the company says, it is very economical, compact, high-performance mobile processor that provides the power and capability of smart phones, previously only available in very expensive models.

New CPU for Tegra 4i, clocked at 2.3 GHz, was jointly developed by NVIDIA and ARM, and is, according to its developers, the most efficient and high-performance processor in the market.

Based on the same architecture as the Tegra 4, GPU, Tegra 4i has five times the graphics cores as its predecessor Tegra 3, providing a high-quality game play console quality on HD displays with a resolution of 1080p. The processor integrates an optimized version of the radio NVIDIA i500, LTE has the functionality and allows to quickly upgrade and scale the network.
