"VimpelCom" announced a major expansion of the transport network backbone
The mobile operator "Beeline" announced the completion of the ring backbone in the Caucasus, the Urals and Siberia.
As stated by the operator, the Caucasus, the new fiber-optic communication line (FOCL) ring structure has a length of 1,500 km, provides a maximum bandwidth of 1600 Gbit / s, and connects 11 cities Pyatigorsk, Mineral Water, Nalchik, Malgobek, Nazran, Vladikavkaz, Grozny, Khasavyurt, Makhachkala, Derbent, Kizlyar. It is planned that in 2013 would have involved a fifth of capacity of the new network.
Yekaterinburg, Tyumen, Omsk, Novosibirsk and Kemerovo also provided new ring highway with a total length of about 3,000 km. The maximum capacity of 8800 Gb / s, and now the network may miss up to 120 Gbit / s.
Built backbone transport network will continue to support LTE network "VimpelCom" in Russia, will provide, according to the company's flexibility and cost-effectiveness of the capacitive and will meet the growing customer demand for mobile broadband access to the Internet, to skipping the increasing volume of traffic on the network . Deploying a highly reliable and scalable technology DWDM (Dense Walelength Division Multiplexing) with the organization IPBB (Internet Protocol Back Bone) will allow the company to modernize existing networks, as required by increasing throughput while ensuring the continuity of traffic, minimize operating costs and long-term investment protection .
At present, the length of new transmission lines "VimpelCom" reached 136.6 thousand km. total capacity of the new line is about 7.65 Tb / s. The plans until 2015 - to cover their own transport rings territory of Eastern Siberia and the Far East.
