Yandex: Internet development in Russia's regions


Company Yandex has released a newsletter on Internet development in Russia's regions:

According to the Fund "Public opinion" in the fall of 2012, the monthly Internet audience in Russia was 61.2 million people older than 18 years - more than 52% of the adult population.

Mobile Internet audience grew by a third. According to market research group TNS, in December 2012, various mobile devices to access the Internet have used about 27% of the inhabitants of large cities.

Most mobile internet users (49%) go online with your smartphone. For 2012, the percentage of normal cell phones has decreased by half, and was 34%. The share of tablets, on the contrary, increased - from 6% to 16%.

According Yandeks.Metriki to February 2013, the share of Android and iOS account for about 60% of mobile devices to access the Internet (last year it was 42%). Dramatically reduced the number of phones with Java and Symbian.

In March 2013, the average cost of mobile access to the Internet was 108 rubles per gigabyte of prepaid traffic.
