"Rostelecom" launches 3G + network in the Volgograd region

The operator "Rostelecom" on the basis of JSC "Volgograd GSM" (100% subsidiary of OAO "Rostelecom") starts commercial operations in third generation mobile communication (3G +) in Volgograd and the Volga. Until the end of the year, the company plans to extend it to all the regional centers of the Volgograd region. Given the growing demand for mobile data services, "Rostelecom" in the construction of third-generation networks using modern technology HSPA +. It provides data rates up to 21 Mbit / s. In the future, the company plans to expand its network capabilities and maximize the speed of up to 42 Mbit / s. Today in Volgograd region found 120 base stations of the new generation, which provides coverage in the city of Volgograd and the Volga. Thus, the services based on 3G + network available to more than 45% of the population. By the beginning of commercial operation has developed a new line of tariff plans and options for data services, designed for different styles and levels of consumption of services. To date, in 24 regions of Russia "Rostelecom" has built and tested a network 3G +, in 17 regions, the company launch. Total planned to install more than 8 thousand base stations. Suppliers of equipment and solutions for the 3G + network are companies Ericsson and Huawei. This summer will be operational 3G + network in Krasnodar region, promises to "Rostelecom".
