Opera Software: The consumption of mobile Internet services in the CIS

Norwegian company Opera Software has prepared a progress report on its investigation, noting that in recent years the CIS countries experienced sustained economic growth, the result of which is, in particular, the growth of consumption of telecommunications services. In this study, Opera Software leads the major trends associated with the consumption of mobile Internet services in the countries of the CIS.

More and more people in the CIS set the browser Opera, including the Opera for Android, Opera Mini and Opera Mobile Classic, for various models of smartphones. Thus, according to anonymous statistical data obtained from the servers Opera Mini, in Russia 30.4% of Opera Mini browser users surf the Internet via smartphones. This figure corresponds to the level of penetration of smartphones in Russia, according to a study J'son & Partners. The highest penetration of smartphones among users of the browser Opera Mini - in Belarus, more than 37%.

Top 10 mobile devices in the CIS countries shows that Nokia still dominates the region. However, the scene there are new players. In particular, Samsung and Fly are increasingly beginning to challenge the dominance of Nokia. That phone Fly DS123 in May 2013. was the most popular phone among Opera Mini users in Russia.
