Huawei Ultra-Flash CSFB: establishing voice connections in the LTE network to 20% faster

Huawei has announced the successful conclusion of a comprehensive test solutions Ultra-Flash CSFB (Circuit Switched Fallback), designed to significantly improve the quality of the switching of calls between networks, LTE and GSM / UMTS.

After initiation of a voice call to the LTE network solution Ultra-Flash CSFB provides simultaneous sending a smartphone indication for a transition from the LTE network to the GSM or UMTS, and sending a reference signal in a circuit switched network to prepare resources for a smartphone. According to the standard, for CSFB need to first set off on a smartphone display, and only then granted access to the GSM / UMTS.

Comprehensive testing was conducted at a research center in Shanghai mLAB Huawei. It is performed on the current radio access network, core network and a reference packet-switched network using a commercially available smartphone. Test results showed a reduction in connection time by 20% compared with traditional networks calls in GSM or UMTS.

A study testing - a step forward in the evolution of voice technology LTE, which will help meet the growing demand for integrated solutions for voice data over dedicated lines for networks LTE. According to Huawei, its functional solutions significantly exceeds the capabilities of the proposed solutions on the market.
