Microsoft buys Nokia still for 5.44 billion euros

Nokia officially announced the signing of an agreement for the sale of the division «Devices & Services», has been manufacturing mobile terminals. In addition, Nokia will transfer all of its portfolio of patents and licenses. Transaction amounts to 5.44 billion euros, which Nokia will receive cash, while receiving about 3.2 billion euro profit.

The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2014, subject to approval by shareholders Nokia, regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.

Following the transaction, Nokia plans to concentrate its efforts on the remaining three divisions: NSN (production camera equipment), HERE (map services), and Advanced Technologies (development and licensing).
