NSN delivers 4G LTE equipment to Tele2 Netherlands

Radio network deployment to improve mobile broadband experience

Nokia Solutions and Networks will implement an LTE* (Long Term Evolution) network for Tele2 Netherlands. Under the contract, NSN is the supplier of the nationwide greenfield radio access network and related services to enable new 4G services, using the operator’s 2600 MHz and 800 MHz frequency bands.

“With the ever increasing demand to deliver high-bandwidth data services any time, anywhere, operators need to evolve their networks to adopt new technologies like LTE,” said Peter Wennerstrom, head of Tele2 global account team at NSN. “We are pleased to be entrusted with this project to help Tele2 build a highly innovative 4G network.”

Under the contract, NSN will provide its Single RAN advanced** (radio access network) platform, which is based on its award-wining, energy-efficient Flexi Multiradio 10 Base*** Station. As well as providing the NSN Radio Access security solution for authentication and data protection, the company will also implement the NetAct network management system to enable consolidated configuration, monitoring and optimization of the operator’s LTE network.

Professional services for the Tele2 network deployment include network planning and care services, such as hardware and software maintenance and competence development services.
