Watch Eurosport Player live on your Nokia Lumia

There are not many things I enjoy more than a lazy weekend on the sofa watching sports on the TV.
I’ll watch any competitive physical activity that involves some sort of ball and lots of running, kicking, throwing or hitting. I’ll even watch golf.

  3. Tap on the link when it appears
  4. Install the app from the Windows Phone Store
So, it’s always a minor disaster when I actually have to do something that’s deemed more important than watching sports. Invariably, this will mean getting off the sofa and actually leaving the house.
In days gone by this would have meant also leaving my beloved sports viewing behind.
Alas, no more. You can now getEurosport Player for your Nokia Lumia smartphone running on Windows Phone 8.
This app is free to download and install but requires a subscription (£5.99 per month) if you want access to the video content.
The subscription will enable you to watch live streams of two channels, Eurosport and Eurosport 2.
Most sports fans in Europe will be familiar with Eurosport and its rich variety of programming. You can watch anything from football, cycling, snooker, superbikes, gymnastics or swimming. There can’t be many sports that are not covered!
In short, if you’re a sports fan, there’s more than likely something for you. At this very moment, you can watch US Open tennis, the final grand slam of the year, live on your Nokia Lumia using Eurosport Player.
In addition to the two main channels, your monthly subscription will give you access to on-demand video, such as recent highlights and any available bonus streams. For example, you might be able to choose between different matches at a tennis event.
Eurosport Player
If you’ve already got an existing Eurosport Player website subscription, like if you signed up and are watching it via your PC or Mac, then you can use the same account to watch Eurosport Player on your Lumia smartphone.
New subscribers can sign up within the app – you’ll just need to create an account with an email address and a password of your choice, and then have your credit card details ready.
There’s no minimum length contract, but unless you cancel your subscription at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, it will renew automatically each month.
Finally, it goes without saying that the video quality will be better if you’re using WiFi and, of course, beware of operator charges if you are using a mobile data connection.
