Huawei Held Global IP Technology Gala 2013 to Discuss Development of IP Networks

Huawei, a leading global Information and Communications Technology (ICT) solutions provider, held the fourth IP Technology Gala in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. This is the second time Huawei has launched a gala targeted at global carriers after the IP Technology Gala China in Beijing in September 2013. Nearly 200 experts were present at the meeting and discussed on architectures, key technologies, business values to operators, and the application of software-defined networking (SDN) and network functions virtualization (NFV). The gala demonstrated Huawei's leading status in developing IP networks in industry.

At the gala, Huawei shared the latest development in the IP field, its latest SDN/NFV architectures and technologies, as well as the company's practices and innovations. It introduced the potential business values of SDN/NFV to operators in multiple network layers by presenting real cooperation cases between Huawei and operators. At the same time, leading operators such as KPN from the Netherlands and TIM from Brazil also shared their successful experiences of joint innovation with Huawei, who helped them enhance competitiveness for future market development.

"Faced with network evolution and challenges, Huawei embraces changes and continues to focus on meeting customer needs. We have invested a lot in the exploration, research, and innovation of future-oriented technologies such as SDN and have launched some products to realize SDN/NFV. We have cooperated with multiple global operators to conduct innovation and commercial use of SDN to lay the foundation for the long-term network evolution." Said Gai Gang, President of Huawei Carrier IP Product Line, "While helping operators transform from mere pipe service providers to comprehensive ICT services providers, Huawei used new technologies including SDN to improve network efficiency, provide open and flexible platforms, and build harmonious industry chains to increase network value in the long run."

In addition, Huawei demonstrated the testing of NE5000E, the industry's first router to pass the full-loading 400G 6.4T test. The excellent testing results that are way ahead the industry average performance surprised all attending experts. This is yet another sign of Huawei's undisputed leading status in the field of high-end IP technologies.
