IDC: the number of smartphones sold will exceed 1 billion
According to IDC's smartphone sales in the current year may exceed one billion pieces. This is 39.3% more than it sold a year earlier. The reason for this growth is that the budget sets are being actively sold on the markets of developing countries. In this scenario, by 2017, sales of smart phones could reach 1.7 billion units per year, with an average growth rate of 18.4% for the year. However, despite the rapid growth of the average cost rate continues to decline, due to the fact that many vendors rely solely on low-cost solutions. In 2013, IDC predicts the average cost smartphone will be 337 dollars against 387 dollars a year earlier, less than 12.8%. This trend will continue in the future and by 2017 the cost of "smart" phone will be $ 265.
