Samsung, LG Clashes Again in TV Definitions

Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics are wrestling in TV definitions again. As the International Committee for Display Metrology (ICDM), which establishes display standards, has changed its policy to require labeling a separate contrast modulation in TV definitions, the two companies are bashing each other. According to industry sources on May 26, the ICDM decided to require marking a contrast modulation in display definitions at the regular general meeting held in San Francisco, the U.S. on the 24th (local time). The decision is designed to reveal an accurate contrast modulation as well as the number of line, which is a standard of the display definition measurement, so consumers can be aware of how much displays can express original images more accurately in practice.
