L.A fame, Sony takes to the catwalk and a sale not to be missed – this week in Sony

Friday is here again, so as always we’re on hand to provide you with the latest news from the world of Sony and Android. First up, we wanted to share an amazing 12K time-lapse video with you that really caught our eye.

It was taken by movie photographer Joe Capra in Los Angeles, and really captures the beauty and huge bright lights of the wonderful city. Joe took the video by using a Phase One XF IQ3 100 megapixel camera and the full-frame CMOS sensor in the camera was developed in collaboration with Sony, which is why we love it even more! The camera has a whopping 101,082,464 active pixels, 16-bit colours and ISO between 50 and 12,800, making the time-lapse crystal clear.

Elsewhere this week, Sony products were making headlines as the h.ear High-Resolution Audio headphone range was showcased by fashion label Antonio Miro, within its collection at the 80 Barcelona Fashion Show. The label wanted to show that every day accessories can be fashionable and the h.ear range was the perfect way of doing so, as they come in a range of shapes, colours, and features. You might remember a little a while ago we spoke with Shanali Perera, who developed Vasculitis, a long-term illness causing great pain and limiting movement. She got in touch with us to share how she used Sony’s Sketch app on her Xperia device to cope with the limitations and changes caused by her condition, and we found it fascinating. Sketch continues to grow in popularity and the team recently launched its very own website. The site lets you explore lots of different ways to use Sketch, as well as showcasing the great work created by other users.
