Samsung Invents a Hingeless Dual Display Smartphone

Last week the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office published a patent application from Samsung that reveals a possible future smartphone with a dual display twist. In their 2012 dual display smartphone design they tried to make the seam between the units almost negligible as noted below.

In Samsung's latest dual display smartphone design, as noted below, the two displays aren't designed to present the appearance of a single seamless display when opened that would benefit users watching of videos, TV or movies. Instead, it's more like a professional notebook aimed at executives, sales pros and students for note taking with a Samsung Pen. They designed the smartphone to be light and by doing that, they gave up on adding a heavy mechanical hinge as presented in previous designs.
