Three notable applications - for registration of a trademark and two logos - suggests that Samsung's stand-alone VR headset named Odyssey could get.
In South Korea, Samsung recently filed applications for registration of the brand name Odyssey , and twologos , including one with the stylized letters VR. Now Samsung ever been released a Windows phone with the name Odyssey, and also in the VR stabbing the South Koreans already up to their ears. However, the descriptions nevertheless attract the attention associated with the applications.A while ago it was finally clear that Samsung is working on a standalone VR headset in the spirit of Oculus' Rift. The descriptions in the reported mark and logos indicates exactly something like " virtual reality gaming headsets (at VR logo) or ' computer hardware ' and ' headsets for use with computers ' by the other two.
Information about the new headset is also still very scarce. Claims based on trademark registrations described here are currently at best speculative. And finally unveiled GoPro not so long ago a VR camera rig with the same O d yssey name.
That does not mean that there are clear vanalles bubbles in Samsung's VR kitchen. Only recently we discovered that the company is likely to be engaged in the next generation of its Gear VR headset - available for use with the Galaxy Note 7 . And apart from that everything seems to have its own cloud service Cloud Together in the pipeline, as well as expansion of Samsung Pay under the name Pay Mini .Whether and what we are going to see this on August 2 , during the next Unpacked event, we do not dare to predict anyway.
