The Players’ Tribune and Samsung Announce New VR / 360-Degree Content Collaboration

The Players’ Tribune to Capture Athlete-Driven Immersive Content Using Samsung Gear 360

Gear 360_with TripodNEW YORK, N.Y.  — The Players’ Tribune (TPT) today announced a new content collaboration with Samsung Electronics America, Inc. that will give sports fans unfiltered access to their favorite athletes. As part of the initiative, The Players’ Tribune will produce athlete-driven short-form 360-degree videos and photography using Samsung Gear 360, the company’s affordable, high-resolution, 360-degree camera for anyone that wants to create VR content.

TPT contributors Von Miller and Hassan Whiteside are tapped to capture content using Gear 360 at exclusive events, providing an all-encompassing visual experience to sports fans. The content will be published on The Players’ Tribune platforms and social channels, as well as Samsung VR, Samsung’s premium virtual reality content service, beginning July 13th as the athletes hit the 2016 ESPYS, walking the red carpet and interacting with fellow athletes.
