Meet the Tizen Smartphone That Samsung is Bringing to Kenya and Other African Markets Soon

There was an interesting unannounced guest at this evening’s local version of the global Samsung Unpacked event where we got to see the Galaxy Note 7 unveiled: a pre-release Samsung Z2.

For those not in the know, the Samsung Z2 is the Tizen smartphone that Samsung will soon be introducing in a number of countries like India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka. Of interest to us is the fact that it will also be the first Tizen smartphone in the African market with Samsung said to be keen on releasing the device in at least 3 African countries at first: South Africa, Nigeria and Kenya.

When news trickled in hinting that the device was coming to Africa, they intimated that South Africa was going to get it first. Maybe that will be the case since we don’t know about the South African market and what Samsung’s plans are down south. But we do happen to know a bit about our locality. The Samsung Z2 will be unveiled in Kenya on August 26th.
