Samsung awarded a Shonky Award for its faulty Galaxy Note 7

Unfortunately for Samsung, the exploding Galaxy Note 7 debacle hasn’t been forgotten about just yet as the firm has been awarded Shonky Award for manufacturing one of the “worst of the worst” consumer products to launch this year.

Believe it or not, this is actually the second year in a row that Samsung has received an award for producing a dud. Last year, it was presented with a Shonky for its sloppy recall of top-loader washing machines that are still continuing to spark house fires.

According to consumer group Choice (host the Shonky Awards), Samsung was given a gong this year for supplying more than 50,000 dangerous Galaxy Note 7′s to consumers that featured defunct components, which led to a large number of units bursting into flames while on charge.
