Sony Global Education to Host the 4th Global Math Challenge

Tokyo, Japan - Sony Global Education is announcing that it will host the 4th iteration of Global Math Challenge from November 17th to 19th. Math lovers both young and old can participate in this online math competition anywhere around the globe through a computer or mobile device. The competition enables participants to engage their true mathematical creativity and test their skills against other math fans worldwide.

Global Math Challenge has previously been held three times worldwide, available online simultaneously in Japanese, English, and Chinese. It has been supervised by the Japan Prime Math Olympic Committee, an organization with a strong track record in math contests for children, and the test questions have been devised in collaboration with the Hanamaru Group, which is recognized for its excellence in developing questions that nurture creative thinking.

Global Math Challenge will be offered in 8 different courses of difficulty to best suit the education level of test takers, from the 1st grade in elementary school all the way up to the adult level. The advanced "Master" course is tailored to math enthusiasts as well as students attending integrated middle/high schools, and will feature the most challenging problem sets.

Meanwhile in China, Global Math Challenge will be co-sponsored by the Research Center for Applications and Innovations in Math Educational Technology of Ministry of Education. This partnership will help to further raise the profile of Global Math Challenge in the Chinese education industry and has already begun paying dividends, with the Center taking steps to introduce the competition to elementary and middle schools across Beijing.

Additionally, Global Math Challenge has joined as a supporter of "With Math I Can," an Amazon-led initiative to transform student mindsets about math, to promote growth mindset and a greater appreciation among the world's youth of the unique fun in solving math problems.
