New website features for Sony Ericsson Developer World
When making-over this website we focused on adding new features that make it easier to find information and to explore new opportunities for developing content for Sony Ericsson phones. In addition to a clean new look, you’ll find phone specification data in a new searchable format, pages tagged with related information and four go-to-market steps organized by technologies
Information discovery
Continuing our commitment to freely available technical information, we have now added features that make it even easier to find information. We have kept the familiar website structure but enhanced how material is presented.
Phone gallery - searchable data
Phone specification data is now presented in a new searchable configuration allowing you to identify which Sony Ericsson phones support a large range of features and formats. Search criteria include platforms, screen size, connectivity, audio & video, JSRs and Flash Lite.
There are three preset searches that, at a glance, present which phones support the Java™ ME Platform, Symbian/UIQ and Adobe® Flash Lite™, making it even easier to start drilling down into the phone data.
If you already know which phone model you want to view, a detailed phone overview page is available from the drop-down box at the top-left of the Gallery page.
Tagging, Rating and Developer Top 10s
To find more information related to your area of interest, clicking on the links in the “Related Tags” box gives you a list of results and many choices of where to go next. More tags will be added over time to expand this service.
Logged in Community members can now rate pages, sharing their rating assessments with fellow website users and the Sony Ericsson Developer World team.
All ratings are automatically added to another new feature called “Developer Top 10s”. Available on most pages and dynamically linked to website activity, this is a list of the most read pages, top searches and top rated pages.
To to market support: Think it, Make it, Test it, Sell it
Giving an overview of how Sony Ericsson Developer World takes you from Mind to Market, our go-to-market support is now presented in four steps – Think it, Make it, Test it and Sell it.
And within each step, you’ll find development resources, links and information for Java ME, Symbian/UIQ, Themes, Flash Lite and Windows® Mobile.
