Handset keypad makers Ichia and Silitech both report record sales in October
Taiwan handset component makers had mixed revenues in October, with two keypad makers – Ichia Technologies and Silitech Technology – both reporting record sales while Merry Electronics suffered a slight setback in sales.
Ichia (keypads and flexible PCBs) saw consolidated revenues continue to hit new highs for the third consecutive month, rising to NT$1.02 billion (US$31.1 million) in October, according to the company.
Revenues in the fourth quarter are expected to expand by a single-digit rate over the NT$2.54 billion recorded in the third quarter, the company projected.
Silitech also saw its consolidated revenues hit a record high of NT$1.01 billion in October, with prospects for the fourth quarter as a whole remaining on a growth track as compared to the third quarter, the company said.
However, Merry saw its monthly figure decline for the first time this year, to NT$852 million compared to NT$872 million in September and NT$890 million in the same month last year.
For the first 10 months of this year, Merry posted revenues of NT$7.77 billion, up only 6.04% on year. The company had previously projected a 50% on-year revenues growth in 2008.
