Kodak claims a violation of its patents on digital camera manufacturers camera from Korea

Eastman Kodak Company announced today that it filed a complaint against South Korean companies Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics and other related organizations for violating its patents.

In the petition Kodak in particular argues that kamerofony Samsung and LG violate patents Kodak's digital still cameras. In particular, this applies these technologies in the field of digital images as reception and image compression, storing data and video preview.

Kodak filed a lawsuit against Samsung and LG in Federal District Court for the Western District of New York, as well as American Commission on International Trade. In a complaint filed by Kodak in the District Court, said the requirement of compensation for the damage caused by a breach of patent rights by these companies. In addition, the company asked the District Court and the International Trade Commission to prohibit these companies to further imports of these products (ie mobile phones with cameras) from companies Samsung and LG. The amount of damage caused to the company Kodak at this stage has not been disclosed yet.
