LG has developed the world's first LTE chip for mobile phones

South Korean company LG Electronics today announced the development of its first chip, which is responsible for the phone functions (modem chip) in mobile phone and supports 3GPP Long Term Evolution (LTE) standards. This chip can theoretically support download speed data wireless networks to 100 Mbps, and transmission - up to 50 Mbps. This event, according to the manufacturer, is a significant step towards the creation of the first commercial mobile phones fourth generation (4G).



LG demonstrated today in its research laboratories, located in the city of Anyang (Korea), speed data downloads at 60 Mbps. and transfer - to 20 Mbit / sec., while most "fast" modern commercial mobile phone that uses technology HSDPA, boasts speeds of 7.2 Mbps.

An experimental models of mobile phones, which were installed new chips 13h13 mm in size, have terminals on the basis of the operating system Windows Mobile, reproduce high-quality video using the service VoD (Video on Demand - video on demand).
