Motorola deploys WiMAX network in Vietnam
The company Motorola, despite the financial crisis, continues to show itself in the market of WiMAX equipment. So, today, Motorola announced the deployment of the first pilot WiMAX network for the company's Vietnam Datacommunications Company (VDC). This company is a member of the group Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) and is the largest provider of Internet access in Vietnam. The new network will allow VDC to test new services to wireless broadband Internet access in major cities of Vietnam.
Reported that the WiMAX network was launched following the conclusion of the contract between Motorola and VDC of the technical and commercial WiMAX trial in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City last year. Under the terms of the contract Motorola will install universal access point, WiMAX (DAP) and more than 100 pieces of customer equipment (CPE) in the two largest cities.
Currently, Motorola has 24 contracts for construction of commercial WiMAX networks in 19 countries around the world.
