NEC has developed voice recognition software for mobile phones
The Japanese company NEC today announced the development of its software for mobile phones that can automatically with a relatively high speed and accuracy to recognize spoken words and certain phrases. More vocabulary of the software is limited to those set, which is required for foreign travel. Work on this has been demonstrated on their mobile phones, NEC (prototype), which are independently responsible for recognition and translation from Japanese into English and vice versa, without the need to use to connect to a network or an outside server.
As the company, new development is not just recognize it and translate words, but also makes the lexical analysis produced phrases, and depending on what makes sense to have the appropriate translation said. All this in the end, according to the NEC, will make another step forward in overcoming communication barriers.
