Motorola Sales Of MOTOTRBO™ Digital Mobile Radios Exceed 200,000 Units

Adoption of MOTOTRBO Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) solutions accelerates as professional business customers benefit from enhanced voice communications, advanced data capabilities and lower operational costs

(NYSE: MOT) today announced that it has passed the landmark figure of 200,000 MOTOTRBO digital professional two-way radios sold globally since first being launched in March 2007. This significant sales volume underlines the growing numbers of professional customers that are benefiting from migrating to Digital Mobile Radio (DMR).

Motorola first launched the MOTOTRBO digital two-way radio platform nearly two years ago, basing it on European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) and Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) standards. Digital two-way radios offer improved range, voice quality, security and battery life in comparison to other digital technologies and over analogue alternatives. They also include data capabilities that are a key factor driving the adoption of digital radios.
