Foxconn forms R&D team for Android-powered handsets, says paper

Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) has formed an R&D team to develop Android-based smartphones, the Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN) quoted company sources as indicating.

Motorola is likely to be a potential client for Foxconn's Android-powered phones as the US-based handset vendor has said it will shift its focus on Google phones in 2009, the paper noted.
