Mio to launch K70 GPS-enabled smartphone in May
Mio Technology, the brand product unit of Mitac International, has unveiled online its first 3.5G GPS-enabled smartphone, the K70, with plans to launch the mobile device initially in the Taiwan market in May this year.
The K70 is built on the Qualcomm MSM 7201 chipset solution and runs on Windows Mobile OS (operating system). It also features a 3.5-inch WQVGA touchscreen display, a 3-megapixel camera, and support Wi-Fi and Bluetooth in addition to GPS, the company said.
Since the specifications of the K70 are similar with the Nuvifone G60 GPS-enabled smartphone jointly launched by Garmin and Asustek Computer, the two models are likely to compete head-on in the global market, according to market sources.
