Revenues from telecommunications services in Russia in 2008 increased by 11.9%
According to the Federal State Statistics Service revenues from telecommunications services in Russia in 2008 increased compared to 2007 at 11.9% to 1223.7 billion rubles. Including revenue from international and long-distance telephony accounted for 125.4 billion (+6.8%), from the postal and special communication - 86.8 billion rubles (3.5%), from the local telephone services and payphones - 138 , 3 billion rubles (0.8%), from the documentary Telecommunications - 109.9 billion rubles (13.9%), from radio, radio, television, satellite and wired broadcasting services frequency points - 54.1 billion rubles (6.8%) of mobile telecommunications - 544.3 billion rubles (16.6%) of services and adherence to traffic - 164.9 billion rubles (16.2%).
The number of telephone sets to local telephone networks has increased in 2008 to 540.7 thousand units, including apartment - at 182.7 thousand units. Number of universal payphones increased by 46.0 thousand pieces; distance and local phones - has decreased by 177 units and 1924 units. The density of fixed telephone at 1 January 2009 was 32.3% versus 31.8% at 1 January 2008
