Acer aims to ship more than one million smartphones in 2010, says paper
Aymar de Lencquesaing, the head of Acer's smart handheld business group, has pointed out that Acer expects its smartphone shipments to surpass one million in 2010, its global smartphone market share to reach 6-7% in three years, and the handset business to account for 10% of Acer's total sales in 2011, according to a Chinese-language Commercial Times report.
The company plans to become a top-five smartphone maker worldwide in 2012, with market watchers estimating Acer will ship 700,000-800,000 smartphones this year for a total of nine models, noted the report.
