Capital Investment in Affiliate

On April 24, 2009, the BOD of Samsung Electronics (SEC) authorized the capital
investment of KRW 99 billion in Samsung Venture Investment Corporation #14
(SVIC#14) Investment Fund to improve competitiveness of its existing businesses. The
investment fund will be established and managed by Samsung Venture Investment
Corporation from May of 2009.
