Compal Communications not venturing into TD-SCDMA, says paper

Taiwan-based Compal Communications has no plans to venture into the production of TD-SCDMA handsets for the China market, the Chinese-language Commercial Times quoted company chairman Ray Chen as indicating.

Despite increasing inquiries for placing TD-SCDMA handset orders from its clients, Compal currently will not consider joining the TD-SCDMA bandwagon due to concerns of market potential, production costs and technology development of TD-SCDMA handsets, the paper quoted Chen as saying.
