East Africa Ready to Reap Benefits of Subscriber Data Management

Highlighting the potential in the market for personalized services, Nokia Siemens Networks is a key sponsor of the region’s biggest industry event, East Africa Com 2009

Recognizing the potential presented by the emerging telecoms market in East Africa, Nokia Siemens Networks is one of the main sponsors of East Africa Com 2009. The two day event, instrumental in bringing together and showcasing developments in telecommunications within the region will also see Nokia Siemens Networks participate in a panel session on ‘Offering Services that really add value’.

“Countries such as Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania have recorded a significant jump in new mobile connections,” said Ian Herbert Jones, Head of Subscriber Data Management for the Middle East and Africa Region who will speak at the panel session on behalf of Nokia Siemens Networks. “As an increasing number of operators compete for the subscriber mindshare, the time is opportune to launch services that really add value. Our Subscriber Data Management solution is one such offering that can help operators create a niche for themselves in the marketplace.”

Nokia Siemens Networks’ Subscriber Data Management (SDM) solution enables Communication Service Providers (CSPs) to make better use of the vast amounts of subscriber data they possess by enabling them to evolve their networks to become more subscriber centric and access this data in real time. By unifying profile data, CSPs can dynamically target services based on customer behavior, delivering a more relevant, personalized and familiar user experience.

“Customer insights derived from our solution can help CSPs create a rich ecosystem of applications and innovative business models,” said Amir Nasry, Marketing Head for North and Central Africa at Nokia Siemens Networks. “In addition to facilitating faster and easier adoption of new services that result in an improved customer experience, the consolidation of subscriber data into one centralized database can significantly reduce capital and operating expenditures – a key selling point for East Africa’s high growth market.”

Nokia Siemens Networks is the market leader in subscriber centric solutions with more than 60 customer references. Within the East African region, Nokia Siemens Networks’ SDM solution is already being used in networks across Tanzania and Kenya.

East Africa Com takes place between April 1-2, 2009 at The Safari Park Hotel, Nairobi, Kenya. Mr. Herbert Jones’s panel session is scheduled at 10:40am on April 2, 2009.
