Huawei Showcases All-IP Convergence, Mobile Broadband and Green Solutions at ITU TELECOM WORLD 2009

Huawei, a leader in providing next-generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, is showcasing its latest All-IP convergence, mobile broadband and green solutions at ITU TELECOM WORLD 2009 in Geneva, Switzerland from October 5 to 9. Huawei has a strong presence at this year' s event, with three of the company' s experts participating in panel discussions and demonstrations of Huawei' s new and innovative solutions for telecom operators.

The areas of All-IP convergence, mobile broadband and sustainability are critical to operators' business success in the 21st century and Huawei will demonstrate how their products and solutions across these major segments can help operators achieve their business and sustainability goals.

All-IP Convergence: Leveraging its comprehensive product portfolio and rich deployment experience, Huawei is at the forefront of network transformation, covering fixed, mobile and IP communications. At ITU, Huawei is demonstrating its latest All-IP convergence solutions, including SingleRAN, a unified radio access network package supporting full convergence of multi-mode wireless networks, and the latest SDR (service delivery platform) product, an end-to-end solution for mobile data service integration, enabling operators to create a richer value-added services offering. These solutions enable operators to simplify the network, increase operational efficiency, protect investment, accelerate time-to-market of new services and improve business profitability, while offering end-users compelling services anytime, anywhere, via any terminal.
Mobile Broadband: As the world' s first telecom vendor to achieve mobile broadband Internet connection over a live commercial LTE (Long Term Evolution) network in Europe, and having successfully deployed more than 10 HSPA+ (High Speed Packet Access Plus) commercial networks for major operators around the globe, Huawei is in a unique position to demonstrate how capturing the tremendous business opportunities brought about by ubiquitous broadband will be vital for operators to establish a future competitive edge. At ITU, Huawei will discuss its three success factors for smarter mobile broadband solutions:

Bandwidth – Huawei' s "High Speed Cloud," "Continuous Cloud" and IPTime solutions help customers improve end users' experience in the most economical way

ARPU – Huawei' s "Smart Operation" solutions help customers improve revenue

Cost – Huawei' s solutions based on its "Many-to-ONE" principle can help operators to reduce site costs by up to 80 percent and transmission costs by 70 percent
Green: Huawei' s green strategy - Green Huawei, Green Communications, Green World – aims to increase energy efficiency and environmental protection for the telecommunications industry as the vast majority of an operator' s carbon emissions come from network operations. As a member of the GeSI (Global e-Sustainability Initiative), Huawei helps to drive environmental protection strategies, implementation measures, technical standards, and public policies that may affect the development of the global ICT industry. At ITU, Huawei is demonstrating its latest green innovations, including intelligent energy, solar- and wind-powered base stations, geothermal cooling, recyclable packaging and approaches to green network deployment. To help operators meet their sustainability targets, while achieving their business goals, Huawei provides end-to-end green communication solutions to enable customers to reduce Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and power consumption through network optimization. Huawei' s end-to-end green communication solutions have helped operators reduce energy consumption by 35%.
Additionally, leading experts from Huawei will participate in panel discussions about industry trends, from new business models and convergence, to growth strategies and mobile broadband.

Richard Yu, President of Huawei Europe, will speak on the "Driving Innovation and Sustaining New Business Models Across Markets" panel (Oct. 6, 14:30 – 16:00)
Eric Ho, Chief Marketing Officer of International Software, Huawei, will speak on the "Service and Application Delivery in a Converged World" panel (Oct. 6, 16:30 – 18:00)
Li Yingtao, President of R&D, Huawei, will speak on the "CTO Roundtable for Growth" panel (Oct. 7, 11:00 – 12:30)
