Glenn Lurie, President, Emerging Devices, Resale and Partnerships, AT&T Mobility, Named 2009 Atlanta Telecom Professional of the Year
Six Hundred Local Telecom Leaders Gather to Honor Industry’s Top Minds.
The Atlanta Telecom Professionals (ATP), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the continued professional development and network growth of Atlanta's telecommunications community, presented Glenn Lurie, President, Emerging Devices, Resale and Partnerships, AT&T Mobility, the 2009 Atlanta Telecom Professional of the Year award.
“I am extremely grateful for this distinct honor that I share with the entire AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets team,” Lurie said. “In the past year my team has been charged with identifying new, emerging devices to connect to the AT&T wireless network and we’ve made tremendous progress. Today, we have several new products powered by our network, including netbooks, eReaders, and personal navigation devices. It is a real privilege to be honored amongst this very distinguished group of individuals.”
More than 600 of Atlanta’s most influential telecommunications executives, including 30 CIOs and a number of CEOs, attended the event kicked off by special guest speaker Ralph de la Vega, President and CEO of AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets and ATP’s first Atlanta Telecom Professional of the Year Award recipient in 2004. Karen Finger, Qwest Communications, chaired the event.
During the evening ATP also honored:
