MTS has successfully tested the system "ERA-GLONASS" on its network
The mobile operator MTS announced the completion of testing of the emergency response system "ERA-GLONASS" in fifteen regions.
MTS has provided access to its network resources, the radio subsystem and the switching system to test the system "ERA-GLONASS", which is designed to transmit emergency calls to first responders in case of accidents and other emergency situations on the road. As part of the functional testing of the "ERA-GLONASS" simulated accident situations occurrence and distribution of emergency vehicles specified in the remote terminals to emergency services. All calls go through radiopodsistemu and switching equipment operator MTS to infrastructure systems "ERA-GLONASS", then the signal is transmitted emergency services.
Tests conducted in Astrakhan, Vladimir, Volgograd, Voronezh, Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Rostov, Ryazan, Samara, Smolensk, Tambov and Tver regions, as well as the republics of Bashkortostan, Kalmykia, Tatarstan.
Earlier, in 2011, to the "ERA-GLONASS" were connected to the first five regions: Moscow and Moscow region, St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, as well as the Kursk region, which also used the MTS network resources.
Tests carried out in all regions is successful, the "ERA-GLONASS" is ready to start trial operation, which is scheduled to finish in December this year.
MTS also took part in the tests of interaction of the "ERA-GLONASS" with motor terminals generated in the EU system eCall, which according to its objectives similar to the Russian system. As part of the test was carried out the connection of the network of "MTS", which ensured the transfer of emergency calls from automotive terminals in the system "ERA-GLONASS".
