Samsung says the Galaxy S8 will have a ‘slick design’ and ‘improved camera’

The news cycle has been dominated today by the fact that the Galaxy Note 7 has eviscerated Samsung mobile division’s profits but the company doesn’t want you to focus on that, it wants you to start getting excited about the Galaxy S8. One of the company’s top executives has revealed a nugget of information about Samsung’s next flagship smartphone which many are already looking forward to as it’s expected to bounce back from its Galaxy Note 7 woes with the Galaxy S8. Samsung Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong has said that the Galaxy S8 is going to have a “slick design” and an “improved camera.”

When Lee Jae-yong says something about the company’s next flagship smartphone, you listen. He’s the son of the ailing Samsung chairman and is widely believed to be the heir apparent. His board of directors nomination was approved by shareholders today in what is perceived to be a big move in the eventual succession to his father’s post.

That’s all he has said about the Galaxy S8 so far but it’s in line with what we’ve heard from the rumor mill. Samsung is expected to make huge hardware changes and the Galaxy S8 might also be the first smartphone from the company to feature a dual camera. Samsung has already ruled out the possibility of an early launch for the Galaxy S8 so we can expect it to be launched at Mobile World Congress 2017 in February.
