Destiny is Calling for Lip Synching Stars in the UpStage(TM) by Samsung Contest on YouTube

Samsung's competition has attracted more than 600 entries from across the
nation

DALLAS, July 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Hundreds of applicants took their lip
synching skills to the virtual stage in the first ever, UpStage(TM) by
Samsung contest on You Tube. Samsung called on all budding rock stars to
videotape themselves lip synching to the song "Destiny Calling" by Melody
Club and post it on YouTube. The contest received more than 600 entries and
from those creative and energetic videos, the top 20 submissions have been
selected.

Following the successful launch and sales of the UpStage in April 2007,
Samsung created the UpStage by Samsung lip synching contest. The goal:to reach a high-tech, youthful and creative audience in a cost-effective manner. In the month that has passed since the contest's kickoff in May, Samsung has achieved that objective.

According to YouTube, since the launch of the contest on May 21, 2007,
Samsung has achieved the following milestones:
-- More than 77 million Samsung product messages have been seen by the
YouTube community.
-- More than 3 million combined views of contestant videos on YouTube

Samsung asked people from around the world to send their best lip
synching video for the song "Destiny Calling" from the Swedish pop band,
Melody Club. Samsung specifically paired the contest to the UpStage because of the phone's first-in-class, dual-sided design that optimizes music downloads over-the-air and side loading capabilities.

"Samsung is thrilled with the response and creative work that the UpStage by Samsung contest has generated on YouTube," said Randy Smith, Vice President of Wireless Terminals Marketing and Business Development at Samsung Telecommunications America. "The music-centric features of the UpStage are a perfect match for imaginative minds behind the hundreds of videos that flooded into YouTube. Samsung has seen that successful products like the UpStage are driven by consumers who respond to viral, online communication. YouTube has been an exemplary medium in showing consumers that the UpStage is not only about entertainment and fun, but it's also one of the best music phones on the market."

The top 20 video submissions are vying for the chance to choose one of
the follow grand prize packages:
