LG Electronics and Marvell Announce Shipment of 4G Network WiBro Smart Phones

Korea Telecom's high-speed WiBro 4G network will now include the LG-KC1 smartphone with the Marvell (News - Alert) PXA 320 application processor.

The LG-KC1 smartphone is loaded with features like high-end graphics, gaming and multimedia and consumes less power while also delivering optimal business applications.

The phone also has a slim design and high bandwidth wireless internet capabilities that make use of the WiBro 4G network.

With this partnership, LG will look to utilize the Marvell PXA 320 application processor, which provides amazing gaming and multimedia functions such as movies and 4G mobile internet. Also, the high speed WiBro 4G network makes it possible to synchronize email and calendars with a PC.

According to Sam Arditi, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Marvell's Cellular and Handheld Business Group, the new LG-KC1 smartphone will prove to be useful for both business owners and private users. While business owners will appreciate the various business functionalities provided in this phone, the individual users will be attracted by the unparalleled gaming capacity of this phone. The Marvell PXA 320 application processor family is designed for optimal reuse of software in phones. Using this technology, manufacturers can differentiate between current and future offerings and can efficiently use power management.
