SAN DIEGO, Aug. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- With the Emmys around the corner, LG Electronics MobileComm U.S.A., Inc. (LG Mobile Phones) announced today that they will post auctions on eBay for five limited edition signed items from their recent LG Mobile TV Party to benefit the Motion Picture & Television Fund (MPTF), a primary resource for healthcare and service for members of the entertainment industry.
The auction will include memorabilia autographed by many of the event's attendees including three LG VX9400 phones, a vintage television set and a VIP event invitation featuring the VX9400. The auctions will also be featured on the homepage of eBay and will go live on Monday, September 3 at 10:00 a.m. PST and last for ten days, ending on September 13 at 10:00 a.m. PST.
"LG continually seeks ways to integrate marketing programs with organizations that are working to help improve our communities and we are proud to spearhead this auction to benefit the Motion Picture & Television Fund," said M. Ehtisham Rabbani, vice president of product strategy and marketing for LG Electronics MobileComm U.S.A., Inc. "Our latest handset, the VX9400 is all about mobile television and we celebrated its launch with a salute to the stars -- from the best in classic television to the hottest shows on today, it is a natural fit to partner with the MPTF to contribute to the great work they are doing for the stars."
The LG Mobile TV Party celebrated the evolution of the television from its start in black and white to its future as a mobile medium. The event brought together television stars from yesterday and today, including Scott Baio, Christopher Knight, Shannen Doherty, Alan Thicke, George Takei, Masi Oka, Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, Jack Coleman and many more.
There will be five auctions in total, allowing television fans of all eras to bid on a variety of memorabilia. In addition to the autographed LG VX9400s, a vintage television set signed by all celebrity guests from the LG Mobile TV Party will be auctioned. The cherry red television was signed by those mentioned above as well as Hollywood's hottest stars including cast members of "Heroes," Sendhil Ramamurthy and Zachary Quinto as well as John Salley, Tara Reid, Benjamin McKenzie, Shane West, Brittany Snow, Nick Cannon and classic television stars including Gary Coleman, Erin Moran, Sherman Hemsley, Jason Hervey and more. The winner of the vintage television will also receive an image CD that includes photos of the stars signing the TV.
