WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., Aug. 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Engineered to take advantage of high speed HSDPA networks in North America, Nokia today announced the addition of the new North American optimized Nokia N95 multimedia computer. Along with North American 3G compatibility, this new Nokia N95 retains all the award-winning functionality of the existing Nokia N95, while adding a number of other notable product upgrades including assisted GPS (A-GPS) for faster navigational fixes while using the included enhanced Nokia Maps application, a full 124MB of operational RAM memory to complement the included 1 GB microSD memory card and the 160MB internal memory, and a higher capacity battery for extended operating time.
The revolutionary Nokia N95 is an all-in-one multimedia computer with a pioneering 2-way slide concept, integrated GPS functionality with maps, 5 megapixel camera and DVD-like quality video. The Nokia N95 offers a first class entertainment experience with the combination of a large 2.6" QVGA 16 million color display, impressive 3D graphics, built-in stereo speakers offering a 3D stereo effect, standard 3.5 mm audio jack, support for compatible microSD cards and mini USB for convenient data transfer.

"The acclaimed Nokia N95 has been recognized as the ultimate multimedia computer, allowing consumers to experience and customize a truly mobile lifestyle on their own terms. The addition of several updates to improve the speed and performance for North American customers means that the best just got even better."
With the availability of the new Nokia N95, Nokia fulfills its commitment to bring feature rich multimedia computers to the United States. Nokia decided to bring the global version of the Nokia N95 with European 3G/HSDPA compatibility to the United States in April 2007 as a respond to public demand, and has been extremely pleased with the response. Optimized for HSDPA networks and with support for WLAN, EDGE and WCDMA networks, the new Nokia N95 combines excellent coverage and high speeds. On HSDPA networks, browsing the internet, reading email, streaming video and downloading large files can be carried out up to 10 times faster than over EDGE.
The Nokia N95 is based on the world's leading S60 software on Symbian OS, enabling consumers to personalize their device by choosing from a wide choice of advanced mobile applications, including games, navigation, entertainment, productivity and creativity. The Nokia N95 comes out of the box ready to create, connect, consume and interact with some of the Internet's most popular services such as Yahoo! Search, Amazon's MobiPocket Reader or Flickr.
Browsing the Internet on the Nokia N95 is a snap using the Nokia Web Browser with Mini Map. With new features such as a floating toolbar, password manager and auto complete, as well as web feeds with support for Atom and auto update, the Nokia N95 offers the real Internet without the need for a 'mobile version' of the web.
The new Nokia N95 is expected to start shipping in September to a growing number of independent retailers in major markets including New York, Los Angeles, Miami and San Francisco, as well as the Nokia Flagship Stores in New York and Chicago. In addition to http://www.nseries.com the new Nokia N95 will be available through multiple online retailers. The manufacturer's suggested retail price is $699.
