Avaya and Nokia Team to Provide New Solution for Nokia Business Device Users
Avaya and Nokia (News - Alert) announced the next phase of their collaboration earlier this week with a solution that will give Nokia business device users one-number access and advanced enterprise telephony capabilities.
The new solution—Avaya (News - Alert) one-X Mobile Dual Mode Edition—combines the benefits of IP-based applications with Nokia devices like the Nokia E60, Nokia E61 and Nokia E70. It includes a dual-mode device with SIP capabilities that makes and receives calls over wireless and mobile LANs, both on and off a company campus.
Greater convenience, enhanced functionality and improved security are promised. Such enterprise telephony features as conferencing, transfer, and extension dialing are included, and it also boasts such security benefits as the ability to authenticate
the Nokia device to a PBX.
The solution can be obtained by downloading the Avaya one-X Mobile for Symbian (News - Alert) Dual Mode application to the Nokia E60, Nokia E61 or Nokia E70. It requires Avaya Communication Manager software, Avaya SIP Enablement Services (SES) and an Avaya Extension to Cellular Dual Mode license.
