Sony Ericsson to sell half of UIQ unit to Motorola - report
STOCKHOLM, Oct. 15, 2007 (Thomson Financial delivered by Newstex) -- Sony (NYSE:SNE) Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERICY) Mobile Communications AB will sell half of its UIQ software licensing unit to Motorola (NYSE:MEU) (NYSE:MOT) , the news agency Direkt reported, citing the newsletter Telekomnyheterna.
UIQ technology is used in mobile phones from Sony Ericsson, Motorola, BenQ and Arima.
Sony Ericsson has called a press conference in London for 2.00 pm BST (3 pm Swedish time), when the deal will reportedly be announced.
