China Unicom considering sale of iPhone in China
MACAU (MarketWatch) -- China Unicom Ltd. is willing to hold talks with Apple Inc. to bring the popular iPhone to China, a company executive said Wednesday.
"It seems that iPhone is hot in some markets. We are willing to discuss with Apple," Li Zhengmao, executive director and vice president of China Unicom told Dow Jones
Newswires on the sidelines of the GSMA Mobile Asia Congress in Macau.
The executive, however, said the company hasn't held talks with Apple yet.
"We are interested in discussing," Li said, without elaborating.
China Unicom's rival China Mobile Ltd. said Tuesday it was in talks with Apple to bring the iPhone to China.
