LG SKINS GAME Adds Major Prizes to Million-Dollar Purse
Four Holes Offer LG SKINS GAME Foursome Opportunity to Win Consumer Electronics, Home Appliance Packages
INDIAN WELLS, Calif., Nov. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Adding to the excitement of the 2007 LG SKINS GAME this Thanksgiving weekend, title sponsor LG Electronics has sweetened the pot with a series of exciting prize packages.
When LG SKINS GAME defending champion Stephen Ames, SKINS GAME legend Fred Couples, reigning Masters champion Zach Johnson and long-hitting Brett Wetterich tee off for the Silver Anniversary LG SKINS GAME this weekend at the spectacular new Celebrity Course at Indian Wells Golf Resort, they will have their eye on the prize, ranging from a $50,000 suite of products to HDTV home theater systems to LG's new premium kitchen package.
In the LG SKINS GAME format, players compete for money for each hole rather than low score for the round. A player must win a hole outright to win a skin. If a hole is tied, the skin(s) and money carries over to the next hole. Each of the first six holes (one through six) will be worth $25,000. Each of the second six holes (seven through 12) will be worth $50,000. Holes 13 through 17 will each be worth $70,000, and the 18th hole, the LG Super Skin, will be worth $200,000. The foursome will play for $300,000 on Saturday and $700,000 on Sunday.
If a player cards an eagle on the 4th hole (par-5, 501 yards) Saturday or the 14th (par-5, 519 yards) on Sunday, he will win an amazing array of LG Electronics products: 60- and 50-inch plasma HDTVs; 52-, 47-, 42- and 32-inch LCD HDTVs; two home theater surround sound systems; a French-door refrigerator, gas or electric range, dishwasher and over-the-range microwave; SteamWasher(TM) and SteamDryer(TM) front-load laundry pair with pedestals; LG's groundbreaking Super Blu(TM) dual-format high-definition disc player, DVD player, portable DVD, portable GPS navigator, and mini-audio system; plus four LG mobile phones -- all told, more than
$50,000 worth of high-tech gear.
The player firing his tee shot closest to the pin on the 6th hole (par-3, 237 yards) Saturday will win a 52-inch LCD HDTV, Super Blu player and home theater audio system, while the player closest to the pin on Sunday at the 16th hole (par-3, 180 yards) earns a new LG kitchen, including a French-door refrigerator, dishwasher, range and microwave oven.
The caddy of the LG SKINS GAME winner will be presented with a top-of-the-line LG "Opus" 42-inch LCD HDTV.
The $1 million 2007 LG SKINS GAME will be produced by ESPN and broadcast on ABC in its customary Thanksgiving weekend home. Nine holes will be aired Saturday from 1 p.m.-3:30 p.m. and on Sunday from 3:30 p.m.-6 p.m. EST (check local listings).
