Nokia Nseries Makes Canadian Debut on Rogers Wireless' Network
Nokia (News - Alert) and Rogers Wireless have announced the launch of the new Nokia N95 8GB, the first device from the Nokia Nseries available in Canada.
As part of Nseries lineup, Nokia N95 8GB combines “world-class technology and the best in imaging, music and Internet capabilities to give consumers whatever they need to snap, surf, share and score,” according to Nokia.
This device from Nokia features 5 megapixel camera with a 20x zoom, Carl Zeiss optics and a luminous 2.8" (240 x 320) QVGA 16 million color display, movie and picture making and MPEG-4 VGA video capture.
Nokia official pointed out that the as Nokia N95 8GB is equipped with 8GB of on-board memory, the handset can house up to 20 hours of video or thousands of songs.
This collaboration with Roger Wireless will enable Nokia N95 8GB’s users to stay connected with friends and family through their social networking websites using Rogers’ HSPA network.
Moreover, with Nokia N95 8GB, Rogers Wireless customers can upload pictures to Flickr or update a profile on Facebook (News - Alert). Due to support for Rogers MobileMail, users can access e-mail from anywhere, and the application supports up to ten email accounts from Rogers Mail, Yahoo! and Windows Live Mail.
Additionally, this device, officials said, “comes out of the box ready to create, connect, consume and interact with applications from Rogers Vision, including Radio on Demand, Video on Demand and Mobile TV.”
John Boynton, senior vice president and chief marketing officer at Rogers Wireless (News - Alert), said that combined with Rogers Wireless' high-speed HSPA network and Rogers Vision capabilities, “the stylish Nokia N95 8GB delivers an exceptional mobile experience, including wireless video calling.”
“We are thrilled to be working with Rogers Wireless to bring Canadians their first Nseries device,” remarked Tejas Rao, director of technology at Nokia Canada.
He also stated that the Nokia N95 8GB is as personal as it is powerful, adding “Combining the latest technologies with stylish design and ease of use, the Nokia N95 8GB is a true multimedia computer and a prime example of the direction that mobility is taking.”
Nokia informs that starting May 6th, Nokia N95 8GB handset will sell for $399.99 with a three-year activation on the Rogers Vision Unlimited On-Device Mobile Browsing Plan. Also, it will be available for purchase across Canada through Rogers Wireless dealers or online at www.rogers.com.
