LG Secret’s Asian Debut at CommunicAsia2008

Singapore – LG Electronics (LG) , a worldwide technology and design leader in mobile communications, is back at CommunicAsia this year with its strongest line up ever. LG will demonstrate their smart technologies and how the technologies enhance user experience in more convenient ways around the theme of "Smartly Touchable, More Usable." Event highlights will be the official launch of the third model of the company’s popular Black Label Series, the LG Secret as well as user friendly touch enabled phones. Other attractions will include the newest smartphone featuring the QWERTY keypad, the LG-KT610, as well as, the world’s first "Digital Video Broadcasting Terrestrial" (DVB-T) mobile TV phone, LG-HB620T.

The LG Secret, the long awaited third model in LG’s black Label Series, will make its official debut in the Asia-Pacific region during the exhibition. The handset boasts a slim 11.8 mm thick frame with 5.0 megapixel camera. It is as beautiful as it is sturdy with materials made of carbon fiber, the first used in mobile phone construction and tempered glass, which highlight the phone’s timeless style and enduring elegance. The Neon Touch Navigation appeals to users on an emotional level with visual feedback. When browsing its five Touch Media feature, the main display becomes touch sensitive for an easy and intuitive experience. The handset also boasts countless technological features including 120 fps video recording, DivX certified video playback, Auto Luminance Control, and Bluetooth Auto-Sync features.

LG will host a press conference at 13:00 pm on Tuesday, 17 June 2008 to officially announce Asia-Pacific regional launch of the LG Secret in Hall 1, Singapore EXPO.

There will be special events at the LG booth. LG will hold an art performance demonstrating how LG has incorporated its stylish design and smart technologies in the LG Secret. There will also be a B-boys performance and ‘Catch the Slow Motion’ event with the LG Viewty as well.

Visitors of the LG booth will also see ample use of LG’s touch technology. LG booth will feature its user friendly touch enabled phones, LG-KF600, LG-KF700 and LG-KF510. They are amazingly intuitive and natural to use. LG-KF600’s feed-forward menus through InteractPad™ and multiple input methods in the LG-KF700 create an unparalleled user experience. The extra slim and elegant slider phone, LG-KF510, wears a gradated metallic color scheme and features interactive touch lighting with unique animation.

LG will also display the LG Viewty and LG-KC550 which are designed for the ultimate multimedia experience, especially for professional image capture and photo/video viewing features. The LG Viewty is already a global hit, having sold more than 1.5 million units worldwide since its global launch last November. Inheriting many of the same features as the globally popular LG Viewty, the LG-KC550 also brings professional quality photos adding to a wider range of consumers at more affordable prices.

In addition to these prestigious handsets, LG will exhibit phones with cutting-edge features including its latest smartphones. The LG-KT610 uses the S60 Symbian Operating system and includes GPS navigation software with downloadable maps for 150 countries. With its dual face and convenient QWERTY keypad inside, it is a truly unique and multifaceted device.

LG will also showcase the world first DVB-T mobile TV phone, the LG-HB620T, to the Asian market. The LG-HB620T is the world first DVB-T(Terrestrial) mobile TV phone. The phone allows users to watch DVB-T digital broadcasts for free, unlike other mobile TV services which require subscriptions. Visitors will find that LG is fully prepared to take the lead in the global mobile broadcasting market.

Highlights of LG’s CommunicAsia 2008 participation include:

LG Secret(LG-KF750): LG designed the LG Secret, the third model in its Black Label Series, to follow the success of its predecessors while satisfying refined tastes of trendsetters who desire a sophisticated design with an enduring elegance. At just 11.8 mm thick, the LG Secret is slim 5.0 megapixel camera phone. The phone is made of some of the sturdiest materials available: carbon fiber and tempered glass, which makes the phone as beautiful as sturdy. The main display becomes touch sensitive when users activate the Touch Media, five multimedia features.120 fps video recording and DivX® certified playback make memories last forever. LG Secret also has Voice Clarity technology and a remarkably convenient Bluetooth auto-sync feature.

LG-KF510: The extra slim and superbly beautiful LG-KF510 slider phone represents the height of fashion and the best in technology. Gradated metallic Stardust Dark Gray and Sunset Red color schemes form the basis for its design, reinforced by a dynamic touchpad with interactive touch lighting and emotional animation. The LCD includes power saving auto luminance control and is covered by tempered glass, which gives the phone a great sheen and lasting durability. The phone’s Smart Camera has a startup time about one second, image stabilization, LED flash and red eye reduction. Rounding out the features are an MP3 player and the ability to record and play back QVGA video.

LG-KF600: The LG-KF600 is so intuitive that it seems almost to read your mind. The phone’s InteractPad™ replaces physical buttons with virtual navigation keys that feed-forward menus that are tailored to fit the task at hand. The InteractPad™ eliminates the need to memorize which key does what when using the phone’s 3.0 megapixel camera, MP3 player, video recorder and even when making phone calls or sending text messages. The LG-KF600 is as stylish as it is functional, with a high-gloss finish and easy to grip trapezoidal shape. The phone won a 2008 iF Product Design Award.

LG-KF700: Combining three separate input methods, the LG-KF700 provides easy access to its powerful multimedia features, which include a full web browser, digital audio and video players as well as handy widgets. Up front, the phone’s high resolution 3-inch full touchscreen LCD provides an optimized interface for each of the phone’s features and is perfect for watching video content. The Shortcut Dial on the back provides easy and intuitive way to switch among frequently used applications. Making phone calls couldn’t be simpler, thanks to the LG-KF700’s sliding alpha-numeric keypad.

LG Viewty(LG-KU990): The LG Viewty, a professional-level camera phone, includes features found on many high-end stand-alone cameras, including a manual focus option, an image stabilizer and an ISO up to 800 for indoor or night shooting. The phone, equipped with 5.0 Megapixel camera, also records video at up to 120 frames per second, the highest frame speed ever for a handset camera, which can be edited and uploaded directly to YouTube. A 3.0-inch touch screen and Mobile XD™ engine provide a wider and more vivid display while a jog wheel on the back maximizes usability. An attached stylus allows users to digitally “write” on photos and edit files.

LG-KC550: Inheriting many of the same features as the globally popular LG Viewty, the LG-KC550 brings professional quality photos into focus. Fantastically capturing moments with a mobile phone has never been easier with 5.0 megapixel imaging sensor with power LED flash and camera sensitivity adjustable up to ISO 800. Low-light conditions are no longer a problem with the Image Stabilizer. Ultra-fine enlargements on a 2.4” wide screen and Auto Image Rotation make viewing results much more enjoyable. Users can also view DVD quality movies and clips with the 30 fps video encoding/decoding.

LG-KS20: The updated LG-KS20 slim smartphone, is designed to enrich the mobile internet experience. It features full internet browsing capabilities, and downloads everything from music and video clips to push e-mail at speed of 3.6 Mbps through HSDPA. It also allows for advanced features like video-conferencing, taking advantage of the phone’s dual cameras. The LG-KS20’s minimalist concept will appeal to those who admire a phone for its design as much as its features. The phone uses an intuitive touch input technology and large LCD screen to maximize its internet usability. The handset is powered by Microsoft’s Windows Mobile® 6 software.

LG-KT610: The LG-KT610 is the perfect choice for people who want a phone that combines smartphone capabilities with compact and fashionable styling. At first sight this pocket-sized handset seems to be a very normal phone, but once opened it reveals another face along with a convenient QWERTY keypad. With HSDPA connectivity the phone can download at speeds of up to 3.6 Mbps and it support full HTML browsing, just like a web browser on a regular computer. The handset is based on the S60 Symbian Operating system and includes GPS navigation software with downloadable maps for 150 countries. Video MMS, email and Google package are also available.

LG-HB620T: The LG-HB620T is the world first DVB-T(Terrestrial) mobile TV phone. The phone allows users to watch DVB-T digital broadcasts for free, unlike other mobile TV services which require subscriptions. This clamshell handset provides an amazing mobile multimedia experience for users, featuring a 2.2 inch internal display. HSDPA connectivity means data transmission speed of up to 3.6 Mbps, perfect for downloading and streaming videos. LG’s Mobile XD engine provides clear images at all times. The handset also comes with a 2.0 megapixel camera, multimedia features and extra memory slot.
